Caerulein is a sulfated peptide that is used in the study of NF-κB-mediated signaling. When administered via i.v., it can produce analgesia. It has also been shown to induce pancreatitis in animals at high doses and prevent pain associated with gall-bladder contraction and intermittent claudication.
